Well, I can definitely say I’m glad to see the back of 2020! Not the best of years of any of us, but still, there were loads of positives that came out of it!
Now, let’s smash 2021. Time for new goals, new dreams and maybe a new you! One thing that I have learned in fitness, is that every day is a new day. Forget yesterday and focus on today! If you’ve fallen off the wagon or have been struggling with your health and fitness in the past, now’s the time to let it go and start afresh. There really isn’t any better time! A cliché maybe, but why not!


Joining a gym in January can be one of the best investments you can make in yourself. Yes, we all know that it’s going to be a busy time in the gym, but don’t let that stop you! It will be full of like-minded people like yourself, wanting to change their lives and make the best start to the new year. With lots of gyms around, remember to choose the right one for you, as not all gyms are the same! Personally, one of the most important aspects to consider when choosing a gym is to choose one that you feel comfortable in, one where the team know your name and one where help is always on hand.
Enough of me though, I thought I’d now share the comments of our incredible newest member of the team here at Fitness Republic. Like most of the team - Blanka started as a regular gym member, so it’s sometimes good to hear things from a different point of view!

Blanka's Story

Following the birth of my son in October 2019, like many women, the weight I gained during pregnancy really knocked my confidence. In the November, I started reaching out to local gyms, before finding the team at FR. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and really took interest in helping me. They slowly started to re-introduce me to suitable exercise for a breastfeeding mother. Towards the end of December, they re-built my confidence to a level where I started to look at personal training services available with them. I signed up for a 6 week Body Transformation plan to assist me with my New Year resolution. They tailored my plan to suit my newborn son's feeding times and my own personal needs, which allowed me to spend enough time with my family, but still achieve my fitness goals.
I had direct contact with my Personal Trainer whenever I needed it. It was more like a friendship rather than a professional relationship. I received so much care, support in addition to weekly check in’s & progress tracking. My diet and nutrition plan was tailor made to suit both mine and my son's needs.

Following my body transformation course, in which I achieved my weight loss goals, with my health and confidence restored, I found that I had a passion for fitness and started to look into a fitness career.

Over the next few months, I completed my Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, I received my Zumba and Spin instructor licenses. During this time Fitness Republic continued to support me in my journey with great advice.
I have been teaching Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, Indoor cycling and Strong Nation and now I am proud to be a member of the Fitness Republic team working towards my level 3 qualification.
For anyone who is looking to achieve weight loss goals, increase fitness levels or just gain confidence, I am available to support by offering guidance and experience in a friendly, safe and supportive environment. You can catch me on various different shifts a week and in the New Year, possibly weekends too! Look forward to meeting you all very soon.
